You’re overwhelmed by well meaning sleep advice

AND DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START?

When it comes to sleep, the internet can be a scary space! There are thousands of pages of advice, most of which contradict themselves and are one-size-fits-all!

I get it, you’re looking for a technique you’re comfortable with, a technique that isn’t going to compromise your attachment with your child and doesn’t make you feel ick!

I’m glad you’re here. You’ve found your people. We are dedicated to helping families get the best sleep possible without ever leaving a child to cry themselves to sleep or encouraging parents to go against their instincts.

It all started with a baby who didn’t want to sleep.

When my son was born (over 20 years ago), we called him ‘The Amazing Non-Sleeping Baby.’ he was so alert and so awake, and even as a newborn, he had FOMO; he did not want to miss anything. That made sleep very challenging.

I thought my degree in child development would have prepared me to help my adorable baby sleep, but it didn’t. In a sleep-deprived haze, I turned to books. I read so many, and with each one, I was so disappointed; I just knew the techniques they suggested wouldn’t work for my intense and spirited son.

After throwing the books across the room, I vowed to work with and not against him when helping him learn the skills to get the best night’s sleep.

There was a lot of trial and error, but I found what worked, and he became an independent sleeper.

14 months after my son was born, my daughter made a slightly early arrival. I thought I knew exactly how to help her get the best sleep. But she had a very different temperament, and what worked for my son just wouldn’t work for her!

I needed to tweak the technique and adapt everything to make it as easy as possible for her to learn how to get to sleep and back to sleep.

I have spent the last 15 + years working with families, and I’ve perfected my unique sleep training technique, The Michi Method.

“We highly recommend Rebecca to others who are at their wits end and are feeling more exhausted than they can bear.  Give her a few months and she’ll help give you back your sleep.”

Here’s my three-step system:

Step One: Understanding your child’s unique sleep personality

Every child has their own unique sleep personality – some are laid-back, others more shy or intense. By taking a simple quiz, we’ll discover your little one’s natural tendencies, allowing us to create a sleep approach that works with their personality rather than against it. This personalized approach saves precious energy (which we know you’re short on!) and helps everyone reach restful nights more quickly.

Step two: Building a strong sleep foundation

Before jumping into gentle sleep training, we focus on creating a solid foundation. This includes:

  • Developing calming bedtime routines that signal “sleep time” to your child

  • Identifying optimal sleep windows when your child is naturally ready for rest

  • Gradually reducing your involvement as your child begins to self-soothe

Many parents see improvements during this stage alone. Your child may fall asleep more easily and enjoy longer stretches of uninterrupted sleep.

Step Three: The Gentle transition to independent sleep

With our foundation in place, we can move to The Michi Method – a gentle approach that respects both you and your child. This method works for all sleep personalities and allows you to:

  • Stay present with your child throughout the process

  • Pick them up whenever your instincts tell you to

  • Soothe them in ways that feel right for your family

As we gradually reduce your involvement, your child will naturally develop independent sleep skills, bringing peaceful nights to your entire household.

“We went to Rebecca after it was taking many hours to get our 4 month old to bed. She would go down, wake up every 5-10 minutes, and so on for a good 1-2 hours every night. Honestly, we were skeptical about using a sleep consultant. However, we now have an 8 month old who sleeps either all night long or wakes for one brief night feeding. We could not have gotten here without Rebecca’s help and would highly recommend her to anyone struggling with their child’s sleep issues!”

“Rebecca offered what my collection of sleep books did not—a tailored approach, troubleshooting tips, and constant support. She works hard to understand unique challenges and answers questions with patience and empathy. My 5 month old went from hourly wake-ups at night and 30 min naps during the day to sleeping through the night with 2 hour naps! Wholeheartedly recommend her to all parents who would like better sleep for their family!”
